Let me tell you I was beyond disappointed after leaving christianity and going to "alternative" spirituality to learn that "alternative" spiritual teachers believe a lot of the same crap about sexist gender roles that the christians do.

Like literally from "Being gay is unnatural you must pray to Jesus" to "Being gay is unnatural you must meditate about it"

"God made woman as man's help meet. A woman should submit to God and then her man" to "Women and men are opposite sides of polarity. Women should 'rest in their feminine' and submit to the guy while 'trusting the universe'"

Like read these spiritual books yourselves ladies. I read one that quite literally said that a woman who wants clitoral stimulation instead of penetration is "superficial" and not "spiritually deep". Like WOW whose fucking idea is that? Who the fuck does that serve?

Spiritualists pay lip service to gay people sometimes, but I think it's just because they're smarter than hardcore Christians. As a mostly heterosexual group of people, they ultimately believe that heterosexuality is the most natural and same sex attraction is some sort of disorder or aberration.
